The verse says

See the Ādityas, the Vasus, the Rudras, the two Aśvins, and the Maruts. See many wonders never seen before, Arjuna.

In plain words

He names the families of gods one after another, like somebody pointing round a crowded room.

Adṛṣṭa-pūrvāṇi — not seen before. By anybody.

The tone is still delight. Nothing yet suggests what is coming.

Where you've felt this · in family life

Your friend grew up in a large joint family. She takes you to a wedding and starts naming people across the hall — that is my mother's cousin, those four are from the Pune side, that one never speaks to the others. You will not retain any of it. The naming is not for your memory. It is how she is enjoying the room.

Going deeper

Enthusiasm is the mood of these opening verses, and it will not survive the chapter.

What is being shown here is still a wonder in the ordinary sense — remarkable, abundant, delightful. The gods are being pointed out one group at a time. Nothing has gone wrong and nobody is frightened. If the chapter ended at verse 14 it would be a description of magnificence.

The turn comes later, and it comes from something that is in the vision from the beginning but takes Arjuna twenty verses to see.

That sequence is true to how large things are actually met. The scale impresses first. What it implies about your own position arrives second, usually some time later, and it is a completely different experience from the first.
