The verse says

And whoever serves me with unwavering devotion, and nothing else, goes beyond these strands and becomes fit to be Brahman.

In plain words

The method, finally, and it is one line.

After twenty-five verses of analysis: devotion, unwavering, with nothing beside it.

Not managing the strands. Not cultivating clarity. Something that does not operate on them at all.

Where you've felt this · in friendship

Your friend stopped drinking and nobody can get a method out of her. She did not taper, count days or use an app. What she can tell you is that she started spending every Thursday with her sister's family, and that the question of Thursday evening stopped being a question.

Going deeper

The remedy offered at the end does not act on the problem that was described, and that is the chapter's final move.

Twenty-five verses analysed three forces, how they rotate, what each produces and what each binds you with. A reader would expect the conclusion to be a technique for managing them — strengthen clarity, starve drive, break heaviness. None of that is offered. What is offered is devotion to something outside the system entirely.

That follows from verse 17, where qualities were shown to be produced by states rather than the other way round. Working on the qualities is working at the wrong end.

And it is why the chapter's long analysis is not wasted even though it does not supply the cure. What the analysis gives you is the ability to recognise the weather as weather. What gets you out from under it is described here as something else, and the two are doing different jobs.
