The verse says

Everyone's faith matches what they are made of. A person is built out of faith. Whatever a man's faith is, that is what he is.

In plain words

One of the most quoted lines in the book, and it is a definition.

Not: a person has faith. A person is faith. Śraddhā-maya - made of it, the way a pot is made of clay.

Then the flat sentence at the end. Whatever your faith is, that is you. Not what you say. Not what you know. What you actually lean on.

Where you've felt this · in creative work

You watch a potter work for two minutes and you can tell what she thinks a pot is for. Not from anything she says. From where she spends her time - whether the base gets the care or the surface does, whether she throws away the one that would have sold. Nobody asked her for a philosophy. Twenty years of small choices have already stated it.

Going deeper

A person being made of faith, rather than having some, is the claim here, and it changes what the word is doing.

Śraddhā is not belief. A belief is a sentence you would agree with if asked. This is the thing underneath that - what you act as though were true, which is frequently not the same sentence at all.

The test is simple, and it is not a test of your opinions. Look at where your time goes, what you protect, what you would be most frightened to lose. That is the shape of what you trust. A man may sincerely say he believes one thing while his week says another, and the week is the more reliable report.

So you are not being told to believe harder. You are being told you already have a faith, fully formed, visible to anybody who watches you for a month, and that the only real question is whether you have ever looked at it.
