The verse says

Krishna said: To you, who do not sneer at it, I shall tell this most secret thing — knowledge together with the realising of it, knowing which you will be free of what is unlovely.

In plain words

There is one condition, and it is not what you would expect.

Not clever. Not qualified. Not already a believer.

Anasūyave — not sneering. The only thing being asked for is the absence of contempt.

Where you've felt this · in family life

Your uncle never talks about the years he spent away from home. Then one evening somebody asks him a straight question, with no joke attached to the end of it, and he answers for an hour. The stories were always there. What had been missing was somebody not smirking.

Going deeper

Setting the bar at not sneering is a remarkably low bar, and it is worth noticing what it leaves out.

No belief is required. No initiation, no learning, no prior discipline, no membership of anything. The one disqualifying attitude is contempt — arriving with the conclusion already formed and looking for confirmation.

That is a practical condition rather than a moral one. Contempt is not a sin here; it is a blocked ear. Anything said to somebody in that state gets converted into evidence against itself on the way in, which is not the speaker's fault and not fixable by better speaking.

So the entry requirement for the chapter Krishna calls the most secret is simply a reader who has not decided in advance. If you have read this far without sneering, that is the qualification, and there is not a second one.
