श्लोक कहता है
Joining himself in this way always, the practitioner with a restrained mind reaches peace — the highest peace of release, which rests in me.
सरल शब्दों में
The result of the whole sequence, stated once.
Śāntiṁ nirvāṇa-paramām — peace, with release as its highest form.
And it is located: it rests in me.
आपने इसे कहाँ महसूस किया है
The gardener has done the same round of jobs in the same order for thirty years. He is not bored by it. Somewhere in all that repetition the jobs stopped being separate from him.
और गहराई में
Nirvāṇa appears here, and it is worth noting where the word comes from.
Its literal sense is a flame going out — not annihilation, but a fire that has stopped needing fuel. The Gita uses it four times in this stretch and pairs it every time with peace rather than with ending.
That pairing is the argument. What goes out is not the person. It is the burning, which Chapter 3 had already described as desire meeting an obstacle.
Mat-saṁsthām — resting in me. The peace is not free-floating and it is not self-generated. It is given a location, and the location is personal.
Which is why this chapter, for all its technical instruction, does not read like a manual. The method is precise and the destination is somebody.
